Teach/Connect/Tea by the Sea

The most wonderful time of the year has finally arrived again. After a way too long break, we once again had the privilege of spending time with guest lecturers from different European countries and cultivating an exchange that broadened our horizons. Not only through the exciting projects by guest lecturers from Spain, Latvia, Turkey and Austria (to only name a few), but also through the varied frame program of the International Project Week.

Already on Monday, at the cozy "Come Together" in the Lüttje Studi Huus of the university, guest lecturers and employees of Hochschule Emden/Leer took the opportunity to get to know each other and make new connections. The guest lecturers brought typical local foods or drinks and gave a short presentation about themselves and their university. This led to a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with a truly special buffet.

This year's highlight was the trip to the beautiful neighbouring town of Leer. The trip to Miniaturland Leer gave our visitors the opportunity to explore Leer and the surrounding area by seeing it from a birds eye view. This included the Bünting Tea Museum, where the guest lecturers later took part in a classic East Frisian tea ceremony and experienced a piece of East Frisian culture. The rest of the day was spent exploring the historic parts of Leer on their own or walking along the harbor. Plenty of souvenir shops gave our guests the chance to take a bit of Ostfriesland home.

Local culture could also be experienced on Thursday in Emden. A visit to the East Frisian State Museum or the Art Gallery was a great way to spend the free time.

It was a pleasure for us to introduce our guest lecturers to our students and to spend an eventful and unforgettable week with our guests. We are already looking forward to another exchange!
